We’ve made several improvements to the new Places tab, including the following: - Added a new button in the top right of the Places tab that recenters the map on your current location. - Removed extraneous points of interest for a cleaner map experience. - Added pin grouping on the map to declutter busy areas. If you tap on a pin with a number, the map will zoom in to reveal the individual pins. - The places tab will now open to your current location rather than San Francisco. You can now like and post about places around you, even if you’re not in the Bay Area! - When searching, tapping a pin will now open the place’s details rather than a post. - Added drop shadows to pins to help them stand off the map (and each other) more. - Added liked pins, showing you which places you’ve already liked. - Added pins with images — if a post has been created about the place, a frame from that post will be shown in the pin. - Made some performance improvements that will load pins more smoothly and quickly when moving around the map. |
